Pat worked as an Obstetric nurse for many years, in Virginia, Washington, DC and New York. After spending 6 months in Scotland in the early ‘70s, and traveling with her family from one B&B to another, she decided that was how she would spend her ‘retirement‘.

Charlie lived his whole life in Northern Virginia, before marrying Pat in 2002 and moving to “The Valley”. It is so beautiful and peaceful here, he doesn’t ever plan to move back to the city. He still works as a carpenter, and continues to commute back and forth every day. (“It’s worth it”).

They both love the outdoors, and enjoy canoeing on the Shenandoah River (in the back yard), hiking, and traveling on the Skyline Drive. The small town living is great, too.
